The founders of Indiana Lyme Connect, ILC, have experienced the problems of delayed diagnosis and complexities of treatment firsthand as their own families have suffered greatly. Knowing that their experiences were not unique, they worked independently for two years to spread information about Lyme disease in Indiana before combining efforts.
In March of 2014, they established ILC with the aim of raising public awareness about Lyme disease, supporting those living with it, and preparing healthcare professionals to address it. Within one year of its conception, ILC became a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. ILC is exclusively volunteer based and as of 2016, donations are tax deductible.
